Crown Homeschool Community Event

Dress Code & Code of Conduct Agreement

To ensure a respectful, safe, and Christ-honoring environment for all attendees at Crown Homeschool Community events, we ask all participants and their families to review and agree to the following guidelines:

DRESS CODE - Modesty Guidelines

We are committed to maintaining a classy and elegant atmosphere. Attire should reflect modesty, respect, and consideration for others. If you have any questions about your outfit, feel free to seek pre-approval from the Crown Board.

Please follow these dress expectations:

For Ladies:

  • Dresses should provide appropriate coverage, no cleavage, midriff/stomach area, or skin-tight dresses.
  • Dresses with modest back openings are permitted, provided the opening is above the high waistline (above belly button) and does not expose undergarments, including bra straps. Undergarments must be worn but should remain completely covered.
  • No see-through materials in areas that require coverage, i.e. midriff, bra area, above acceptable skirt length.
  • Dress fit should not be overly tight or revealing.
  • No Strapless.
  • Spaghetti straps are acceptable.
  • NEW RULE: Dress, slits, and skirt length must be a couple inches below the fingertips while in motion.
  • One-sleeve dresses are allowed, as long as they offer appropriate coverage and support.

For Gentlemen:

  • Suits or tuxedos must be worn with a dress shirt and tie. Jackets are encouraged for a formal look.
  • No clothing with inappropriate logos, slogans, or images.
  • No Jeans, t-shirts, sandals, or flip-flops.

DRESS CODE – Violations

Students wearing attire that does not comply with the dress code may face one of the following consequences. So please err on the side of modesty.

Students may be asked to:

  1. Conceal the non-compliant attire with a jacket or cover-up.
  2. Have a parent bring an alternate item.
  3. Leave and return in appropriate clothing.
  4. Students may be asked to leave the dance without a refund.
  5. Students may be excluded from future Crown events.

CODE OF CONDUCT

By attending a Crown Homeschool Community event, all students, parents, and guests agree to the following behavior expectations:

  • Respect and follow all posted rules and directions given by chaperones.
  • Treat all property with care and cleanliness; vandalism or theft will not be tolerated.
  • Avoid any clothing that exposes the midriff or uses sheer fabrics inappropriately.
  • No kissing or inappropriate touching. Holding hands and an arm around the shoulder is acceptable.
  • No inappropriate language, bullying, fighting, swearing, and threatening behavior will not be tolerated.
  • No weapons, tobacco, vaping devices, marijuana, alcohol, or illegal drugs are allowed on the premises.
  • No agressive behaviour. All attendees should show respect to one another during the event.
  • Remain on the event property within designated boundaries until picked up by a parent or guardian.
  • If any attire violates these expectations, parents may be contacted to bring a change of clothes or to pick up the student early. This may occur during the event.
  • If any behaviour violates these guidelines, and your child does not correct the behaviour after being asked to do so, your child may be asked to leave the event.
  • Dress and conduct choices should reflect love, respect, and honor for Christ and others.

Below are some examples that do NOT follow the Crown dress code:

*NEW RULE* This dress is too short as it does not go a few inches below fingertips. It is also strapless, so would not be acceptable.

*NEW RULE* This slit is too high. Slits and short dresses should be a couple inches below your fingertips when moving.

This dress is too low-cut.

This dress is too low-cut in the back.

This dress is too form fitting.

This dress needs a shawl or jacket to cover bare shoulders. It is also low-cut.

Collared shirts and slacks should be worn. No jeans, sandals, flip-flops or T-shirts.
