Hike the Bolsa Chica Wetlands Preserve with your Crown friends!
Cost: $14 per student
Parents and chaperones are free!
Please note that younger siblings may participate in the hike, but the educational activity is only for paid student participants.
Schedule:
- Meet outside of building by 10AM
- Take a 1-1.5 hour guided hike
- Take a 30 minute lunch break at 11:30AM
- Participate in a lab activity at the facility
- End approximately at 1pm
Make sure to bring water bottles, sunscreen, hats, and walking shoes! Children must be supervised at all times.
This tour is subject to cancellation based on weather conditions. Bolsa Chica Wetlands will work to reschedule if our field trip is canceled. No refunds after 05/01/2026.

The trails are not paved, but are fairly flat. Trails are wide enough for strollers & wheelchairs. Be aware of holes along the trail from our
burrowing wildlife!
Stay together in groups → this way no one misses out on what their guide is showing/discussing.
Keep as quiet as possible → the quieter the group the more wildlife they will see!
Electronic devices such as cell phones, iPods, & iPads may be used only to take photos and video during the visit. Text messaging & social media
use are prohibited
Images taken during participation may be used in the Bolsa Chica Conservancy’s Publications, on the website, and in other media.
